Hello! I'm Beth McNeill, a high school math and science tutor based in the Bay Area. With a Master's in Education, a degree in Chemical Engineering, and recent classroom teaching experience, I help students build confidence and master challenging material.
I specialize in high school courses from Algebra through AP Calculus and Chemistry through AP Chemistry, plus SAT/ACT test prep.

SAT Math Prep Classes

I offer 6-week SAT Math prep classes designed to build confidence, master key concepts, and learn test-taking strategies. Classes are small (6-8 students) with plenty of individual attention.

Experience That Makes a Difference

I bring a unique combination of expertise to tutoring: a Master's in Education from Alder Graduate School of Education, a degree in Chemical Engineering, and hands-on high school teaching experience.
Last year, I taught high school math and science in the classroom, which gave me deep insight into current curriculum and what students need to succeed. I understand the challenges students face because I've been working with them directly.
Before teaching, I spent 15 years in the tech industry as a software developer and manager. This real-world experience helps me show students how math and science connect to careers and everyday problem-solving.
My Teaching Philosophy
What I love most about tutoring is helping students have those "aha!" moments when challenging concepts finally click. I create a supportive, patient environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and taking intellectual risks.
I believe every student can succeed in math and science with the right support and approach. My goal isn't just to help students pass their next test—it's to build lasting confidence and problem-solving skills they'll use throughout their lives.

In-Person (at your home): $130/hour
SAT/ACT Individual Tutoring: $140/hour

SAT Math Prep

6-Week Class: $500 per student
Individual Tutoring: $140/hour

Group Sessions

2 students: $75/student ($150 total)
3 students: $65/student ($195 total)
4 students: $55/student ($220 total)
